Pupillary distance, or P.D. describes the distance between the center of the pupil and the center of the nasal arch. It is measured in millimeters. This value is given separately for the left eye and right. The value is estimated between 25 and 40 mm.

In some cases only a combined value for the pupillary distance (value for the total distance between the two pupils) is established. This value is estimated at between 50 and 80 mm.
