In the late 1950s and early 1960s, the American counterculture movement reached Britain. Fueled by Jack Kerouac's influential 1957 film "On the Road" and films like "The Beatniks" and "The Beat Girl" in the following years, the 1392 is inspired by the beatnik uniform: thick-framed glasses, skinny jeans, and turtleneck sweaters. This square-round style is a perfectly proportioned frame, completely unisex, and discreetly understated. Design details, such as our front oyster pins, enhance its vintage style.
